It was with great sadness that we recently learned of the death of Mrs Barbara Edmondson.
Barbara was a staunch supporter of the Festival from its earliest years and a long serving Trustee.
Her advice and enthusiasm were greatly appreciated and the Friends of the Festival will remember with affection the gatherings
she would hold in the garden of Castle House to encourage new members and publicise events.
A generous donor, personal sponsor and practical helper, Barbara played an indispensable part in making the Summer Festival
a settled part of Buckingham’s cultural scene.
The Buckingham Summer Festival was founded in 1989 by the late Professor Alan Brook MBE and Artistic Director Robert Secret ARAM. Over the years it has brought top quality musical performers to the Town and has become an eagerly anticipated part of the Summer's activities and an important cultural event in the Aylesbury Vale area. The Festival is a registered charity and relies entirely on volunteer effort, local sponsorship, individual donations and grants to keep ticket prices affordable.
This year's Festival will take place in the week commencing Saturday 7th July 2108. This is a special year for us as the Festival will be entering its 30th year and we have some wonderful music to offer you. Watch this space for further details!
