buckingham summer festival 2008 Welcome to the web-site of the Buckingham Summer Festival! 20th year goes out with a bang! 5th - 12th July The 20th Buckingham Summer Festival 2008 has come and gone, but what a week we had! The gala concert on Saturday 12th was a fitting climax to a week of outstanding musical entertainment. Nadia Wijzenbeek played the Beethoven Violin Concerto in an electrifying performance worthy of the world stage, here in Buckingham! The Orchestra of Stowe Opera were on top form to follow that with a stunning rendition of the Beethoven 5th Symphony to send the audience home utterly uplifted. There were wonderful midweek performances. Whoever heard Haruko Seki on Thursday are unlikely to forget it! We had stunning debut performances from Mami Shikimori and Ning Chaiporn Pookhaothong.
