Mami Shikimori was top prize winner at the "Ibla Grand Prize" International Piano Competition in Italy in 2003 which resulted in the appearances at Carnegie Hall, Weil Hall and Casa Italiana Zerilli-Mariṃ in New York and engagements in Italy and England. In 2002 she was selected by the Manchester Midday Concert Society as one of the two most outstanding young pianists to give a solo recital at the Bridgewater Hall in Manchester.
