Buckingham Summer Festival 2011
2nd-9th JULY 2011

Tuesday 5 July - Demon Barbers
Zany mix
Radcliffe Centre 8pm

Described originally as 'a cross between the King's Singers and Desperate Dan' and more recently compared with the Marx Brothers and The Tallis Scholars (the truth!), The Demon Barbers were founded in 1976 in a Wimbledon pub with the purpose of stimulating further lock-ins on licensed premises! They went professional in 1982 to perform razor-sharp barbershop, 90° proof spirituals, funky folk and humorous original songs along with their own special arrangements of pop classics from the 30s to the present day. They are the only group to have made their South Bank debut in London Underground’s prestigious Waterloo and City line tunnel.

The group has performed extensively on BBC and Commercial Radio and Television, appearing on programmes such as TVS's 'No.73', 'Jonathan Ross' 'Last Resort', the BBC2 'DEF II House Party' with Normsky, Brian Matthew's 'Round Midnight' and Esther Rantzen's 'That's Life'.

CONCERT sponsored by The Vet Centre Ltd, Maids Moreton and Old Stratford
Price £10 (under 18s £5)
